THE WOLFE BROTHERS – LET’S HIT THE ROAD – AUSTRALIAN TOUR READY SET RIDE – TOUR ROLLING OUT NATIONALLY UNTIL JUNE 2018

They’re one of Australia’s favourite country rock bands and now The Wolfe Brothers have image001announced the first dates of what will be a year-long jaunt called Let’s Hit The Road – Australian Tour. Easily one of the hardest working bands on the circuit today, if they’re not touring, they’re writing and recording – in fact, they haven’t really stopped since they smashed onto the Australian scene back in 2012.

The band has recently been in Nashville writing songs for their next album. In fact, they only just arrived back in the country on the weekend and are already looking forward to a busy 12-months ahead recording their fourth album. “We will be doing a lot more of our own shows around the country,” says Tom. “We will also continue touring with Lee Kernaghan on his 25th anniversary tour, which has been such a huge success! We’re excited that it will now be extending into next year!”

The Nashville songwriting trip was a creative powerhouse. “The songwriting on this trip feels like we have stepped up another level,” says guitarist Brodie Rainbird. “We have spent so much time in Nashville over the last couple of years that it is our second home, and we feel very settled and relaxed there now. The past experience of writing the last album there has given us the confidence to approach these songwriting sessions with much more focus on what we want to achieve, in terms of a direction for the next album.”

Rightfully considered as one of the hottest live country bands in Australia, The Wolfe Brothers are renowned for their tight performances and affable approach. With the release of the first leg of their Let’s Hit The Road – Australian Tour for 2017, the second leg – slated for 2018 – will be announced in coming weeks. The band is looking forward to sharing some of their biggest hits – and new material – with fans on the road.

Lead singer Nick Wolfe says no night will be the same. “We are trying to evolve as a band,” he says. “We do not want to stay the same all the time, we want to grow and get better at what we do. Our goal is to achieve this on the new tour by giving the audience all the hit songs with some nostalgic covers but also share some new music with them before we release these songs on next album. It is always very satisfying to get the reaction of the hard-core fans to our new songs. We genuinely like to get them involved in the lead up to releasing a new album, and there is no better way to do that than to get the fan’s opinion of some new songs.”

The Wolfe Brothers most recent album This Crazy Life hit #2 on the ARIA country charts and has spawned three #1 singles, making it 10 singles in a row from the last 3 albums to hit the #1 spot on the country charts. The current radio release, a duet with Lee Kernaghan on his single Damn Good Mates, has also spawned airplay around the country.

The Wolfe Brothers Let’s Hit The Road – Australian Tour will roll-out around Australia until June 2018. The band’s as-yet-untitled new album will be released mid-2018.

THE RED HOT SUMMER TOUR RETURNS IN 2018 WITH THE ULTIMATE ROCK N ROLL LINE-UP SUZI QUATRO, THE ANGELS, BABY ANIMALS, THE SCREAMING JETS, MOVING PICTURES & CHOCOLATE STARFISH

The Red Hot Summer Tour is back in 2018 and the line-up is bigger than ever! The undisputed international Queen of Rock Suzi Quatro, joined by special guests The Angels, Baby Animals, The Screaming Jets, Moving Pictures and Chocolate Starfish. The touring regional festival has been selling out each year and with the enviable line-up in 2018, the event is travelling to new regions and venues which have previously not been part of the Red Hot Summer Tour run.

Promoter Duane McDonald says it is an exciting time to be part of the Australian touring festival scene and he can’t wait to take the Red Hot Summer Tour brand into new areas. “We have had wonderful support over the past eight years since we launched the Red Hot Summer Tour,” he says. “We wanted to make sure we could bring top-notch music to regional areas and audiences have embraced that concept. Now we have the opportunity to take the tour further afield and we will be launching shows in new venues in 2018, including taking the Red Hot Summer Tour to Western Australia for the first time ever. We can’t thank music fans enough for their support – we look forward to continuing to bring fantastic festival experiences to regional Australia.”

After a sold-out tour in 2014, Suzi Quatro is back to headline the ultimate rock n roll line-up. There are few female performers who have a career as successful and versatile as Suzi Quatro. When it comes to summing up her decades of music, there is no better way than to quote Suzi directly – “I will retire when I go onstage, shake my ass and there is silence”. It’s no surprise then to find out that Suzi has never stopped working in one guise or another, whether it is playing her solo rock show to packed houses, hosting her own show on the BBC Radio 2, performing on the West End or penning hit songs. To date, this enigmatic performer has sold over 55 million records, in fact, for a seven-year period in the 1970s she was featured in the British charts for an incredible 101 weeks. Her hits include The Wild One, 48 Crash, Devil Gate Drive, She’s in Love with You and If You Can’t Give Me Love to name a few.

When it comes to great Aussie rock, it doesn’t come much better than The Angels. It’s been over four decades since brothers Rick and John Brewster co-founded the iconic band and have penned some of Australia’s most anthemic tracks. The Angels are widely reputed for their killer live shows. With hits like Long Line, Marseille, Be With You, After the Rain, Shadow Boxer and Mr Damage to name a few. Audiences need to get ready to rock when The Angels take to the stage at the 2018 Red Hot Summer Tour.

Baby Animals burst onto the Australian scene in the 1990s with a solid rock force and a sassy lead singer. Suze DeMarchi proved that girls could rock just as hard as guys and the Baby Animals soon kicked some impressive rock butt with hits such as Rush You, Early Warning and One Word. The band scored themselves ARIA awards for best album and toured the globe. When they split in the mid-1990s they ended a special era of Australian music. The band’s inclusion on the Red Hot Summer Tour line-up is a rare chance for music fans to see their original rock at its best.

Aussie rock doesn’t get much more powerful than The Screaming Jets. After celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2014, they released a new long-player in 2016 – Chrome – an album which showed the band were still rockin’ as hard as when they first crashed onto the scene in Newcastle back in 1989. With a swag of hits such as Better, Helping Hand, Sad Song, October Grey and Come On under their belt, The Screaming Jets are renowned for their pumpin’ live performances. They – and rightfully so – earned themselves the reputation as one of the country’s hardest working touring bands early on and it is this notoriety that still sees them packing rooms at shows today.

Moving Pictures are one of those bands whose songs are part of the Australian psyche. Their 1980s classic What About Me epitomised Australian music at the time. Their debut album Days of Innocence was a chart topper both in Australia and overseas. The group disbanded in the late 1980s but reformed again recently much to audiences delight! Their inclusion on the 2018 Red Hot Summer Tour line-up is highly anticipated.

For music lovers looking for a special bit of concert showmanship, then they’re in for a real treat as Chocolate Starfish take to the stage. Fronted by the enigmatic Adam Thompson, the band is known for their high energy live performances. With songs like Four Letter Word, Mountain and You’re So Vain, Chocolate Starfish powered onto the Australian music scene in the 1990s and quickly secured themselves a space as an influential force. They produced two Top 10 albums and six Top 50 singles. Joining the Red Hot Summer Tour in 2018, this is a great opportunity for music fans to see one of the country’s most energetic bands in true festival style.

The Red Hot Summer Tour always sells out well in advance, and year after year it has been proven to be one of the best value for money concert experiences in Australia. Music fans are recommended to get in early to secure their tickets so they don’t miss out on one of the biggest line-ups of the festival to date.

Tickets are on sale at 9am on Thursday 8th June 2017 through Ticketmaster.

ROSE TATTOO DROPS NEW LIVE ALBUM RECORDED IN 1982, MASTERED FOR 2017

Tatts: Live in Brunswick is a 14-track album recorded at Melbourne’s Bombay Bicycle Club in Brunswick in 1982 and mastered for loyal fans in 2017. Released via powerhouse indie rock label, Golden Robot Records, the album is available via iTunes and other digital retailers, with hard copies being sold exclusively at Rose Tattoo’s upcoming Brisbane and Sydney performances with Guns n’ Roses on February 7, 10 and 11, as well as the SFR Store.

It’s an album that takes you back thirty-five years ago; the Australian pub rock scene was at its peak, live music was everywhere, and so was Rose Tattoo, becoming one of Australia’s most revered rock bands of all time, known for their peerless, raw, heavy blues rock, hot mix of slide guitars, and the unmistakable voice of Angry Anderson.

Tatts: Live in Brunswick – when rock was king and Rose Tattoo was at its most formidable, with all the might of what’s ahead in 2017.

KAYLEE BELL KICKS IT WITH KEITH URBAN ON STAGE

Kaylee Bell joined Keith Urban on stage in Wellington at the Westpac Stadium just recently to perform Keith’s number 1 US single We Were Us.

Having previously duetted with Keith during his Light The Fuse Australian tour in 2014 Kaylee was delighted to join Keith on home soil in Wellington recently, as part of his ripcord World Tour. Check out the live performance here:

“It was a total dream to sing with Keith in 2014, but to do it for second time in my home country – seriously that feeling can’t be described. I felt like we were ‘one’ with the audience and Keith is without a doubt my biggest idol and has been since I began singing at the age of 4.” – Kaylee Bell

Following in Keith Urban’s country superstar footsteps, Kaylee became the first Kiwi since Keith to win the Toyota Star Maker Australia competition in 2013. She hasn’t looked back since, with Kaylee’s latest single, Getting Closer, taking out the #1 position on the NZ iTunes country chart.

CELEBRATING DAVID BOWIE

To honour David Bowie’s 70th birthday, Bowie band members, friends and an ensemble of top recording and touring musicians from around the world are getting together for a one-time only series of global concerts, called Celebrating David Bowie.

The concerts all take place in cities that have a strong connection with David Bowie and his work and will feature a core two dozen musicians, joined by our own Bernard Fanning, Sarah Blasko and Paul Dempsey, recreating a sound like no other. The Sydney concert takes place at the Sydney Opera House on 29 January 2017.

The concept for the shows grew out of two large, informal ensemble shows featuring 70+ musicians in Los Angeles and San Francisco in the spring of 2016 which included Gary Oldman, Seal, Ewan McGregor, Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads) and Bowie band alumni from Space Oddity to the latest Blackstar album with both shows generating a great deal of press and fan praise from around the world.

Bowie’s close friend Gary Oldman, who delivered an emotional speech about David at The BRIT Awards, and is opening the tour in London with former Bowie band members Mike Garson, Earl Slick, Adrian Belew, Mark Plati, Gerry Leonard, Gail Ann Dorsey, Sterling Campbell, Zachary Alford, Holly Palmer and Catherine Russell, along with many other special guests to be announced. Their return to London together at the 02 Academy Brixton show this coming 8 January, David Bowie’s birthday, sold out in just two hours.

Leading the group in Sydney will be former star Bowie band members Mike Garson, Adrian Belew, Earl Slick, members of David’s last two touring bands, Angelo Moore from Fishbone, Latin Grammy Award Winner Gaby Moreno, Bernard Fowler from The Rolling Stones, Joe Sumner, and a vast extended musical family who play with or have played with Tom Waits, Sting, Seal, Herbie Hancock, De La Soul, Brian Eno, Iggy Pop, Smashing Pumpkins, B52s, Dr. Dre, Burt Bacharach, David Byrne, Todd Rundgren, Prince, Neil Young, and Lenny Kravitz make up the core ensemble.

Individually, these former Bowie band members performed, wrote and recorded together with David through several decades including the 1973’s Ziggy Stardust tour, the Diamond Dogs tour, Isolar II (Heroes) tour, to the hugely successful Serious Moonlight tour, the Sound And Vision greatest hits tour to Glastonbury 2000, Heathen, his final A Reality Tour and many of them appeared on Bowie’s triumphant comeback album, The Next Day.

After their BRIT Awards performance, Bowie’s last touring band refrained from further opportunities to honour him as it was still too emotional. But as word reached them about the sincerity of this particular group they slowly decided to come onboard to say goodbye to David properly in a grand show keeping in line with his tremendous legacy.

Far from being a tribute show and never referred to as one, this ensemble is David Bowie people playing David Bowie music, David Bowie style. This is the first and last time this inner circle will do anything like this and these global shows are likely to be the last time that they perform his music together. Sadly, this may be the closest anyone will come to a David Bowie live experience ever again.

Celebrating David Bowie will be joined by Australian guests to be announced shortly.

Tickets to Celebrating David Bowie go on sale at 9.00am on Monday, 12 December 2016

LITTLE BIG TOWN REVEALS DEBUT AUSTRALIAN HEADLINE DATES FOR MARCH KIP MOORE JOINS AS SPECIAL GUEST ON ALL DATES

Two-time GRAMMY winners LITTLE BIG TOWN today reveal that they will play anticipated back-to-back all ages headline dates on their debut Australian tour in 2017. The acclaimed four-piece will touch down in Sydney for a show at the Enmore Theatre on Tuesday 21st March, taking in Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Wednesday 22nd March. Tickets will go on sale at 10am, Thursday 17th November.

Nashville native and platinum-selling artist, KIP MOORE, wowed local audiences with an unforgettable appearance at this year’s sold out CMC Rocks QLD, and will return to Australia to join fellow Statesiders Little Big Town on the road in March.

Additionally, both Little Big Town and Kip Moore will hit the CMC Rocks QLD stage, ready to unleash epic sets at the event’s 10th Anniversary celebration. Proceedings will kick off on Friday 24 and continue through to Sunday 26 March 2017 at Willowbank, Ipswich.

Little Big Town, the reigning Grammy Country Duo/Group of the Year, and CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year, will make their debut Australian visit hot off the heels of extensive North American touring. In 2015, the band achieved a career defining milestone when their hit single ‘Girl Crush’ took out Best Country Song at the Grammy and CMA Awards, and went on to become America’s best-selling country single of the year. With albums Tornado (2012) and Pain Killer (2014), Little Big Town have achieved further success in the way of multiple chart-topping singles ‘Pontoon’, ‘Tornado’ and ‘Day Drinking’.

Inducted into the iconic Grand Ole Opry in 2014 by none other than Reba McIntire, the group has chalked up in excess of 40 award nominations, and in the past five years has taken home close to 20 awards, including multiple Grammy’s, CMA and ACM Awards, and even an Emmy Award.

They have previously shared the stage with the likes of Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood and more, and are one of the biggest country acts in the US right now. With a brand new single ‘Better Man’, penned by none other than Taylor Swift, currently making waves at US radio, Little Big Town will be ready to blow Australian audiences away in March with their hit-laden repertoire and a taste of brand new material from the forthcoming seventh studio album The Breaker, set for release on 24th February 2017.

Kip Moore is the ultimate road warrior, having spent the past six years traversing North America from top to bottom, building one of the most dedicated, loyal fan bases in the process, and becoming a festival favourite. Armed with a live show that mixes the bombast and wild desperation of Bruce Springsteen with the rootsy stomp of Merle Haggard, Kip has a sound built on space and swagger. A sound that bangs as hard as it twangs, caught somewhere between blue-collar country music and stadium-sized rock & roll.

With multiple American Country Award, CMT Music Award and CMA nominations under his belt, and songs from his sophomore album Wild Ones now a staple across US country radio, Kip will be gearing up to top his explosive main stage CMC Rocks set, which was a highlight of this year’s proceedings.

Little Big Town, together with Kip Moore, are set to deliver one of the year’s must-see country music events this March – Don’t miss it!

AUSTRALIAN MADE: 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION

DIGITALLY RESTORED FEATURE FILM ON AUSTRALIAN MUSIC’S COMING-OF-AGE INXS, JIMMY BARNES, DIVINYLS, MODELS THE SAINTS, THE TRIFFIDS, I’M TALKING

30 years ago, two significant moments in Australian music industry history arrived out of a passion for Australian contemporary music.

The first was the inaugural ARIA Awards in 1986. The second was the staging of a major series of outdoor festivals in the summer of 1986/87 under the banner AUSTRALIAN MADE. They were both ambitious ideas borne out of a frustration for the lack of respect for, and recognition of, our country’s musicians.

To celebrate this milestone, AUSTRALIAN MADE: 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION will screen exclusively at 40 Event Cinemas and Village Cinemas on Friday 25 November for one night only. Click here to view the trailer.

Both events back in 1987 not only broke the rules, they forever changed the perception about how we, as a country, viewed our place on the world stage when it came to music.

As INXS lead singer Michael Hutchence said during the AUSTRALIAN MADE Tour: “It’s grown-up time. We’ve come of age. This has proved that we’re part of the world music scene.”

AUSTRALIAN MADE saw nearly 140,000 fans in six cities witness performances from a potent and imaginative line-up including INXS, Jimmy Barnes, Divinyls, Models, The Saints, The Triffids and I’m Talking.

AUSTRALIAN MADE: THE FEATURE FILM

Acclaimed director Richard Lowenstein and a 50-strong film crew captured the on-stage performances and backstage camaraderie between artists for production of a feature film of the AUSTRALIAN MADE Tour.

AUSTRALIAN MADE was a critical and box-office success when it was first-released nationally in July 1987:

“An expert mixture of on-stage appearances, inspired
selection of music and behind-the-scenes interviews”
Rob Lowing, The Sun-Herald (1987)

“Those forceful images of Jimmy Barnes belting it out are
as memorable as anything I’ve seen in a rock film”
Paul Le Peitit, Sunday Telegraph (1987)

Academy Award® winner Jill Billcock was responsible for the rapid-fire editing, with music production by the legendary Mark Opitz, who’d previously collaborated with AUSTRALIAN MADE producer John McLean on Cold Chisel’s Last Stand – the country’s first theatrically-released rock film.

AUSTRALIAN MADE: 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION

30 years on AUSTRALIAN MADE has been brilliantly restored for a 21st century audience. Sony Music Australia, in partnership with the film’s producers and assistance from the National Film & Sound Archive, have undertaken a major digital restoration of AUSTRALIAN MADE, including a 2K widescreen scan of the film negative and remastering of the soundtrack.

The restored film features 15 live concert tracks, including explosive performances from INXS and Jimmy Barnes – both of whose profiles are as strong now as 30 years ago. The 30th Anniversary Edition includes ‘never-before-seen’ outtakes and intimate behind-the-scenes ‘home movie’ footage that’s recently been unearthed from the archives.

AUSTRALIAN MADE is a rare ‘time-capsule’ of our music history – a soundtrack to the lives of many who were there, and a unique way for a new generation of music fans to discover the best of Australian music in the 80s.

AUSTRALIAN MADE: 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION will screen exclusively at 40 Event Cinemas and Village Cinemas on Friday, 25 November for one night only.
