AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY MUSIC’S NEW SUPERGROUP – ADAM BRAND & THE OUTLAWS – HIT THE ROAD IN 2016 FOR A MASSIVE NATIONAL TOUR

Australian country has a new supergroup – Adam Brand & The Outlaws – and they are heating up the local charts! Fronted by 12 times Golden Guitar winner and multi-ARIA award nominee Adam Brand, The Outlaws features an all-star line-up of some of the most prolific names in the Australian scene – Drew McAlister, Travis Collins, Matt Cornell and Mike Carr. Adam Brand & The Outlaws is what you get when you join one of the key artists of his generation with four of the finest country musicians to emerge in this country over the past two decades. Now, this incredible supergroup are hitting the road for an intensive national tour, kicking off in January 2016. There is no doubt about it, an evening in the company of these musicians is guaranteed to be a night to remember!

Adam Brand & The Outlaws debuted at the 2015 Gympie Muster to much acclaim, and their debut single Good Year For The Outlaw has already received rave reviews from the local music community. The outfit’s debut self-titled album is due for release in January to coincide with the Tamworth Country Music Festival and the start of The Outlaws’ national tour. The outfit’s forthcoming album is a 14-track music dynamo. Featuring covers of classic rock favourites from the likes of Cold Chisel’s Working Class Man to Queen’s Fat Bottom Girls and Jet’s smash Are You Gonna Be My Girl, the album is all killer, no filler! Recorded in Rancom Street Studios, produced by Adam Brand and engineered and mixed by Ted Howard, the album is set to define a generation!

When it comes to country music stars, Adam Brand is at the top of the tree. He has three times platinum and five times gold albums. He was also the winner of this year’s CMC Oz Artist of the Year. Drew McAlister has a slew of Golden Guitars under his belt for both songwriting and performance credits. Travis Collins is a multi-Golden Guitar nominee, with the longest running #1 Country Airplay track of 2015 for Curves from his #1 ARIA country album Wired. Matt Cornell – a former Baby Animal – has fast earned a reputation for his live shows and was a finalist for the CMC New Artist of the Year in 2015. Mike Carr, best known recently as the creator of two time ARIA-winning comedian Buddy Goode, is a Golden Guitar winning songwriter who has penned many well-known Australian country hits.

For Adam Brand, pulling together The Outlaws was something of a natural progression. “When it came to putting a list together of people that would suit this outlaw band, it didn’t take very long,” he says. “These guys are all great mates, have amazing talent and occasionally cross the line – perfect! Over the years we have all worked together in one form or another. This tour is going to take us from Tassie, across the Nullabor and then all the way to Tropical Queensland. Who better to do a tour of this scale than with your mates?! The whole idea of this band, album and tour is to go out and party hard, and these boys do that best!”

They might be called ‘Outlaws’ but the four incredible musicians involved are all focused on providing the ultimate party soundtrack. With the album coming and a swag of shows guaranteed to embrace this festive atmosphere, Adam Brand & The Outlaws are set to become the stuff of legend. As it is with Outlaws, they don’t stick around… so buckle up and get ready for some sonic fireworks! Adam Brand & The Outlaws have arrived!

When I think about the last few years of my musical life I think about a chance that I got from Adam Brand. Brandy got McAlister Kemp our record deal. I got to play in a duo that released three albums and did amazing things and that all happened because of Adam Brand’s belief. In this new venture I’m completely amazed by the concept and the talented people that I’m going to get to tour with! Mike Carr is one of the best singers I’ve heard ever! …And songwriting…well his credentials speak for themselves, I can’t count how many cuts Mike has had! Matt Cornell, a perfectionist in the best kind of way, Matt’s musical history is an amazing journey and it all comes from pure talent… And he can do more push-ups than me! Travis Collins, I want your voice man, and your fingers ha! A seriously talented dude, plays, sings, writes amazing songs! The Outlaws are about amazing songs and are without doubt anthems, that anybody who has a musical bone in their body will be compelled to party to! The Outlaws are brotherhood, we’ve done a lot of crap gigs to get good at our game, and that’s why this tour is gonna rock! We want nothing more than to please anybody who comes to this show! It’s a privilege to be a part of the outlaws project and I cannot wait to get up on stage front and centre with these amazing guys who have an awesome track record in their own right!! In any business you can’t sell something unless you believe in it, and we all believe in this!! This combination is going to spell ‘PARTY TIME’. – Drew McAlister

Everything about ‘The Outlaws’ is based on mateship, brotherhood and good times. It sounds that way on the album and its sure gonna feel like that on the tour. It should’ve been almost impossible for five different artists each having their own careers, schedules and commitments, to make ‘The Outlaws’ fall into place… but it’s happened because each of us love this music and have a deep respect and admiration of the other four guys we’re in it with. It started with backstage conversations between five separate artists of ‘wouldn’t it be cool’ and ‘imagine if we could’ and escalated quickly piece by piece to a single band, a few jam sessions, then and album and full blown national tour. The Outlaws… yeah, I like the sound of that. I just wanted to play a tour where no-one would tell my guitar was too loud… I suspect this is that tour. – Travis Collins

When Adam Brand first told me about his idea for the Outlaws, he didn’t even get to finish the first sentence, I just jumped in and said “I’m in,” especially once I heard who else was doing it. Mike Carr not only happens to be one of my best mates, he’s someone I admire immensely, he was a big contributor to my current album, we wrote a bunch of songs together. Drew, I had the pleasure of touring with a couple years back, he would have to be one of the best singers on the planet, a great song writer, and one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Travis and I have also spent time on the road, he too has an amazing voice, & certainly knows his way around a fret board, seeing him perform is something he was definitely born to do. For the past six or so years I’ve been a part of Adam’s band, touring all over the place, so we have spent countless hours together, he’s become like a big brother to me, and has helped guide my solo career. So, to say we’ re all good friends is kinda underplaying it, we’re a gang, a band of brothers, we’re Outlaws! – Matt Cornell

I’ve a long association with Adam, Drew and Matt, having written songs with them on their own albums. We’ve been mates forever and to have this opportunity to work side-by-side is a dream come true… and as usual a lot of fun. This is the first time I’ve worked with Travis, I have known him and admired his immense talent for many years and it is very exciting to finally be making music with him, in a purely platonic way of course! We had so much fun making the album, and were completely in awe with each other’s talents. Now it’s ready… it’s time to hit the road and show everyone this very unique combination never before seen in Australian country music – and we can’t wait! – Mike Carr

The outfit’s debut single Good Year For The Outlaw is at radio now. Adam Brand & The Outlaws debut self-titled album is out through ABC Music on 15th January 2016.

After a 19-year hiatus, raucous rockers UGLY KID JOE are set to return with a new full-length album entitled, Uglier Than They Used Ta Be. Known predominantly in Australia for their massive hits of the early 90’s, which saw ‘Everything About You’ reach #4 on the Australian ARIA Charts, followed by ‘Cats in the Cradle’ soaring to #1 in 1993 with massive amounts of airplay and achieving #8 on the overall chart for that year.

The new album, which was recorded at JT Studios and Balance Studios in Louisiana under the helm of producer and UKJ guitarist Dave Fortman (Slipknot, Godsmack, Evanescence), is scheduled for digital release in Australia on September 18 via UKJ Records.
