Truck driver charged with drug offences – Goulburn

A truck driver has been charged with drug offences after being stopped by police in Goulburn overnight.

About 10.20pm (Thursday 4 June 2015) a 45-year-old man was driving a B-double truck on the Hume Highway, Goulburn after he was allegedly detected travelling at 120km/h, while restricted to a maximum speed of 100km/h, being a Class C vehicle.

He was given a roadside drug test, which returned a positive reading, and a search of the vehicle allegedly located 9.6grams of amphetamine.

The Queensland man was taken to Goulburn Police Station where he was charged with deemed supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug and self administer prohibited drug.

He was bail refused to appear before Goulburn Local Court today (Friday 5 June 2015)

Inquiries are continuing.

Man charged with stealing five motorbikes – Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas

A man has been charged after allegedly stealing five motor bikes from Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas.

About 3.45pm yesterday (Thursday 4 June 2015), a 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with five counts of steal motor vehicle after an extensive investigation by Newcastle City Special Operation Group.

Police will allege the 23-year-old stole motorcycles from the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas during April and May 2015, when test- riding bikes for sale.

The bikes were allegedly stolen on 29 April 2015 from a Warners Bay address, 30 April 2015 from a Charlestown address, 3 May 2015 from a Bonnells Bay address, 10 May 2015 from a New Lambton address; and 12 May 2015 from a New Lambton address.

The 23-year-old was charged with five counts of steal motor vehicle and drive whilst disqualified.

He was refused bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court today (Friday 5 June 2015).

Police appeal to locate wanted man – Newcastle

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man wanted in Newcastle.

A revocation of parole warrant has been issued for 37-year-old Shaun Thomas Mitchell.

Mitchell was on parole for an aggravated break and enter charge; however, allegedly failed to comply with the conditions.

Officers from Newcastle City Local Area Command are appealing for public assistance as they attempt to locate him.

Mitchell is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 180cm and 185cm tall with a thin build and brown hair.

It’s believed he frequents the Newcastle area and surrounding suburbs.

Anyone who sees him or believes they know his whereabouts is urged to contact Triple Zero ‘000’ immediately.

Missing man – Central Hunter

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man who went missing from the Central Hunter region.

Danny See, aged 43, was last in contact with his family in early January 2015. His family have been unable to locate him and reported him missing to police in April 2015.

Officers from Central Hunter Local Area Command launched an investigation and commenced searching.

Police and family hold concerns for Mr See as he has not been seen or heard from since January.

Investigators would like to speak to anyone who may know Danny See or his whereabouts and are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

At the time of going missing Mt See did not have a fixed address although is known to frequent the Maitland, Cessnock, Singleton and Muswellbrook areas.

Mr See is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 165-175cm tall, slim build, brown hair, brown eyes and a large scar on the right side of his head.

Daniel See is depicted in the image as having a beard and short hair he is believed now to have no beard and a shaved head.

Man airlifted from bushland in Hunter region

A man is receiving hospital treatment after being airlifted from bushland in the Hunter region today.

About 4pm on Sunday (31 May 2015), a man camping in the Watagans National Park contacted police.

He reported seeing another man two days earlier – on Friday 29 May 2015 – getting out of a car and entering the bush.

When the car remained in the same place on Sunday afternoon, the camper decided to raise the alarm.

About the same time, a 39-year-old man was reported missing by a family member.

Police have been searching for the man, with the assistance of NSW State Emergency Service volunteers.

About 10.50am today (Tuesday 2 June 2015), the man was located in dense bushland about 200 metres from Murrays Run Road.

At 2.20pm, the man was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.

He is being treated for hypothermia and minors cuts and abrasions.

Man charged with indecent assault – Newcastle

A man has been charged with indecent assault after an alleged incident at an educational facility in Newcastle.

Just after midnight yesterday (Sunday 31 May 2015), a 19-year-old woman was sleeping in accommodation on University Drive, Callaghan when a man allegedly entered her room and indecently assaulted her.

A male friend heard her yell for help and removed the man from her room.

Police were called later in the day and took statements regarding the alleged incident.

About 10.45pm yesterday (Sunday 31 May 2015), a 23-year-old man was charged with indecent assault and granted conditional bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court on Thursday 4 June 2015.

Two charged following assault and kidnap – Mayfield West

Police have charged two people after they allegedly assaulted and kidnapped a man in Mayfield West.

About 12.10pm yesterday (Saturday 30 May 2015), a 35-year-old man went to the home of a 27-year-old man and 30-year-old woman in Miller Street. While at the home the older man was verbally and physically assaulted by the pair before allegedly being stabbed by the younger man on a number of occasions.

It is alleged, the attack continued and the 35-year-old man was threatened at knife point, hit over the head with a replica firearm and tied up.

He managed to escape and ran to a nearby service station where emergency services were called.

The man was treated by Ambulance Paramedics at the scene. He was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition with significant head and facial injuries. He also suffered a number of stab wounds to his arm.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 27-year-old man and 30-year-old woman at the home a short time later.

They were taken to Waratah Police Station where they were charged with wound with intent and special aggravated kidnapping.

They were refused bail to appear at Newcastle Bail Court today.

Police investigations are continuing.
