A woman has been bailed to appear in court next month after she was charged with introducing prohibited items into a correctional facility where she was employed she was employed by the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network..
Detectives from The Hume Local Area Command commenced an investigation last week after several items of contraband were discovered in the Goulburn Correctional Centre by staff of Corrective Services NSW.
Following investigations, about 8.30am today (Thursday 11 June 2015), detectives executed a search warrant on a home in Nowra where several items of interest were seized for further examination.
A 37-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Nowra Police Station.
She was charged with five counts of possess prescribed restricted substance, one count of introduce thing (prescribed medication) into place of detention and one count of introduce thing (2 mini mobile phones) into place of detention.
The woman was brought before Nowra Local Court and was granted conditional bail to appear before Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday 8 July 2015.
Inquiries into the matter are continuing.
