Traditional Japanese and jazz flute virtuoso, Kaoru Watanabe, will draw on the classical and jazz backgrounds of the TaikOz members to create new lyrical and improvisational possibilities for taiko drumming.

Kaoru Watanabe graduated from the Manhattan School of Music in jazz flute and saxophone. His music can be best described as an ever-shifting blend of the folk and classical traditions of Japan with contemporary improvisational and experimental music.
