A man in his 40s is in a critical condition at the Canberra Hospital after a motorbike crash on the Hume Highway near Goulburn, one of a number of crashes in the region on Friday morning.
About 7.50am, NSW Ambulance received reports the man had suffered a critical leg injury from the highway crash.
The highway was closed in a northbound direction while the man was airlifted to hospital by the Snowy Hydro SouthCare rescue helicopter.
The ambulance also received reports at 9.15am of a single-car crash at Bevendale Road, Dalton near Gunning involving two adults and as many as five children.
Paramedics were still responding as of 10.10am.
Traffic was heavy on the Cotter Road on Friday morning after a two-car crash, turned into a six-car pile-up between the Tuggeranong Parkway and the McCulloch Street intersection at 8.05am.
There was also a two-car crash near the Flemington Road exit onto the Federal Highway outside EPIC, which held up traffic coming through from Gungahlin.
