Police investigating the death of a man in Newcastle on the weekend are appealing for CCTV footage from local businesses.
Just after 3am on Saturday 7 March 2015, officers attached the Newcastle City Local Area Command were called to a home on Dickson Street, following reports of a man being injured.
On arrival, police located a man suffering a gunshot wound. He was unable to be revived at the scene.
A crime scene was established and officers conducted an extensive canvass of the area.
Police attached to the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad are assisting local police with investigations.
Detectives are appealing to any businesses or residents within 3km of Dickson Street which may have CCTV capabilities to call Newcastle Police or Crime Stoppers.
Inquiries into events leading up to the incident are continuing.
