A 19-year-old man is assisting with inquiries after an alleged domestic incident at Armidale overnight, during which a 21-year-old man was stabbed.

About 6pm yesterday (Wednesday 22 April 2015), two family members became involved in an argument at their Armidale residence.

It is alleged the argument turned physical with the 21-year-old receiving a stab wound to his abdomen.

A 18–year-old woman, who was in the house at the time, was not hurt.

This morning, police from New England Local Area Command arrested a 19-year-old man in Armidale.

Inquiries are continuing.
