Police will resume their search today (Tuesday 9 June 2015) for a 19-year-old man who went missing while on a camping trip with friends at McLean’s Lookout, in the Central Hunter Region yesterday.
The man was last seen by friends about 9am (Monday 8 June 2015) when he left the camp for a brief walk. He was last seen heading towards a track at the northern end of the lookout fence.
His group became concerned after he failed to return and they conducted a search of the area without success.
Police were contacted about 10am and a full scale search was conducted utilising the Special Casualty Access Team (SCAT), Volunteer Rescue Association, SES and Police Rescue teams.
The search was concluded last night due to darkness, and will resume about 8am today.
The search will involve the same search and rescue teams as yesterday, and will concentrate on an area around the McLean’s Lookout.
