Police have released CCTV images following an attempted ram raid at a cafe at Freemans Waterhole, in Lake Macquarie, earlier this year.
About 3.30am on Friday 20 March 2015, two men drove a green Hyundai Excel to a cafe on Freemans Drive.
Inquiries revealed the vehicle had been stolen during a previous incident in Cooranbong.
The two men gained entry to the cafe and attempted to remove an ATM from inside the business.
One of the men then rammed the vehicle through the glass doorway of the business multiple times; before both men fled the scene empty-handed.
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Local Area Command were alerted and established a crime scene at the location.
Investigations into the matter are continuing and police have now released CCTV images of two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The first man depicted is described as having a dark complexion, of an average build and is shown wearing a blue hooded shirt with the letter ‘R’ on the back in red and black, dark-coloured shorts, black joggers, white gloves and has his face covered with a piece of material.
The second man depicted is described as being of skinny build and is shown wearing track suit pants, a blue hooded jumper, a baseball cap with a red peak and blue joggers.
Anyone who knows the identity of either man, or has any information that may assist police, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
