Police are investigating a house fire in the state’s Lake Macquarie region overnight.
Emergency services were called to Mary Street at Cardiff about 12.15am (Tuesday 21 July 2015), where they found a house alight.
The blaze was extinguished before officers from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command established a crime scene.
An investigation into the incident is underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The fire is being treated as suspicious.
