A report will be prepared for the Coroner after the death of a man in a crash north of Sydney.
About 9.40am today (Sunday 28 February 2016), a Toyota Avalon travelling north on the Pacific Highway, Belmont, attempted to turn right into an access road.
As the vehicle turned right, it collided with a southbound motorcycle, causing the rider to be thrown to the road.
Police and Ambulance Paramedics attended and the 36-year-old male rider of the motorcycle was taken to John Hunter Hospital where he died a short time later.
The 86-year-old man driving the Avalon was taken to Belmont Hospital for a mandatory blood and urine sample.
Police from Lake Macquarie Local Area Command are conducting inquiries into the crash.
