Three people have been charged after firearms, ammunition and drugs were seized during a vehicle stop at Guyra.
Police from New England Local Area Command stopped a car on Bradley Street just after 10.30pm on Saturday (19 March 2016).
Officers spoke to the occupants before conducting a search of the vehicle where they located and seized two firearms, along with bullets and a small amount of amphetamine.
The occupants were arrested and taken to Armidale Police Station.
Two men – aged 21 and 26 – were charged with possession of loaded firearms, while a 21-year-old woman was charged with disqualified driving, possession of prohibited drugs; and dealing with the proceeds of crime.
The two men were refused bail to appear at Armidale Local Court yesterday (Sunday 20 March 2016). They are due to re-appear before the same court via video-link today (Monday 21 March 2016).
The woman was also bail refused to appear at Armidale Local Court today.
Another man was arrested however was later released without charge.
