Assistant Commissioner John Hartley, Commander of Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, said it was fortunate a number of truck drivers were in the area at the time of the incident, who greatly assisted police.
“The Traffic and Highway Patrol officers involved in the alleged pursuit were assisted by truck drivers who were travelling in the area at the time of the incident.
“We would like to thank those drivers, who not only provided valuable information to officers on the location of the Audi, but who also assisted in the safety of their fellow road users,” Assistant Commissioner Hartley said.
