IMMERSE yourself in OURregion’s industrial history as local artist and photographer Jacob Raupach explores THE ALPINE WAY…
This exciting young artist’s debut solo exhibition explores the mythology, fiction and history surrounding Tumut and the neighbouring area, and the region’s relationship with, and reliance upon, the forestry industry. With variations of large and small-scale colour and black and white photographs, found objects and sculptural studies, THE ALPINE WAY explores the deeply embedded relationship that Tumut and the surrounding area share with the resource-based industries of gold and timber.
Councillor Trina Thomson, Mayor of Tumut Shire and Dr. Neill Overton, Senior Lecturer in Art History and Visual Culture at Charles Sturt University’s Wagga Wagga campus, will officially launch the exhibition at 6.30pm on Friday 13 September.
JACOB RAUPACH: THE ALPINE WAY is on display in the E3 art space, Wagga Wagga Art Gallery from Friday 13 September to Sunday 22 September, 2013. For more information contact us on (02) 6926 9660 or visit www.wagga.nsw.gov.au/gallery
